  • FireFox 3.0 out today!

    I use a number of addons that all installed wonderfully (with one exception) and all my bookmarks, cookies and preferences carried right over. There are a few addons I highly recommend, once you get FF3 installed.

    Better Gmail 2     (if you use Gmail, which you should)
    Greasemonkey     (needed for Better Gmail 2)
    Image Zoom – resize images on any web site
    IE Tab – for those pages that just haven’t been updated to work with Firefox (lazy developers) 😉

  • My New Computer is Fast

    I didn’t get much time to play games this weekend, but spent time setting up my new computer. After a 7 year lifecycle on my old AMD machine ( that’s a pretty long time between upgrades) the old dual CPU motherboard died. Rather than rebuild that machine I chose to move parts over to a new case/motherboard/CPUs/RAM/Video. After about 14hours setup time (had some issues with the BIOS settings and my SATA drive), I’m rockin’!

    My new machine’s specs:
    Sunbeam Transformer Case (Full Tower)
    AMD 64 x2 6400 Windsor clocked at 3.2GHz
    Kingston RAM – 2GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
    Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard with HD Audio and NVIDIA NForce
    XFX GeForce 8600 GT 512MB Video Card
    2 Samsung and 1 WD harddrives totaling 570GB
    19″ Widescreen BenQ G900w monitor

    I can’t even begin to describe the performance increase. It’s clocked 3x faster than my old machine and dual core, so capable of running multiple apps at a time. I must say that I am pleased. 🙂 I’ll have some benchmarks and photos for you soon.

    Should be done with configuration within a couple of days and back to playing Call of Duty 4!

  • A little history lesson for you

    Hulu (streaming TV shows! Sweet!) has the Colbert Report in full episode format. I had to see what was on last night and found this little gem. Enjoy.

    So there you have it. Solid proof that we have already done the Black President thing. I wonder if we’ve had a Hispanic President and missed that too?
